I made this quilt in honor of my brother and sister-in-law's 50th birthdays. The block was designed by Kathy Greer in the fall 2013 issue of Modern Quilts Limited Magazine. I had a lot of fun with the asymmetrical blocks, and I added extra borders. Laurena's geometric quilting really adds to the overall effect.

Whacked

Whacked, by Bee Quilt WAQ

Wall Quilt 50 x 70
Machine Pieced, Machine Quilted by Nancy Wasserman

This time we really whacked our way to this colorful quilt. Starting with a 10 1/2" square of light colored batik fabric, we whacked either a diagonal or straight cut and inset a 1/2" to 1" darker color batik strip. The blocks were passed around twice and a WAQ could do nothing or whack another cut and inset another strip.
This is WAQ's donation to the 2016 RSQ Benefit Quilts.
The WAQ's (Wednesday Afternoon Quilters of RSQ): Florence Baturin, Nancy Howard, Delores McCravy, Deb McKenna, Pam Turner, Nancy Wasserman, Sandy Whitecross, and Linda Whitehead.

Large Quilt 68 x 80
Machine Pieced, Machine Quilted

This quilt is a combination of many, many fabrics, few of which were mine originally! RSQ members and other quilters cleaning out their stash have given me bags of scraps to create something. Starting with 8.5 inch pieced squares, I decided to do some cutting and re-positioning to come up with this design. I will definitely create others with this design!
