This quilt, designed by Janice Shaw and Marita Hartshorn, was made by 17 Lexington quilters to present to the 300th Celebration of the town of Lexington. The idea came from a quilt made in 2005 by members of the Brookline, MA Senior Center designed by Miriam Sokoloff.

My brother's 50th Wedding Anniversary. Quilt-as-you go, I quilted each 9x12 block separately then put them together with sashing. Patterns from RSQ demos, quilting classes from Diane Loomis, Karen McTavish,and others, plus Sharon Schamber, Leah Day and all the quilting teachers on the Internet.

This quilt honors my brother-in-law, Rafael, who sometimes snores peacefully in his recliner as I visit with my sister. Rafael is Cuban and loves the ocean and fishing. Please take a close look at the quilting and see how many fish you can find amidst the kelp and seaweed.

I made this vest in a class given by Beth Bender at Whippoorwill Station Quilt Shop in Florida. All the components were done separately with a different technique and made prior to construction with a simple vest pattern. Some of the techniques look difficult but were not. It was a fun project.

This is my second mariner's compass quilt and the colors are less than traditional. The pinks remind me of the sands and buildings in Bermuda.

My granddaugther graduated from high school this past June and her favorite colors are purple, green and yellow. The pattern chosen for her quilt was "Secret Window" which is a mystery quilt designed by Debbie Caffrey.

This quilt was designed by Bethany Fuller. I fell in love with the fabric colors which came from the "More Pink and Chocolate Collection" by Nancy Gere. Brown is one of my favorites. The combination of fabrics used in each block was chosen by me. No two are alike.

I saw this pattern in 2008 in Mark Lipinski's Quilter's Home. It wasn't large enough for me so I added the three borders. Now it is a much loved winter cuddle up quilt, used by all.

A gift for my brother's recent, major, birthday inspired by a picture of him and his wife, shown on the back of the quilt. I played with the picture, and then blew it up to use the silhouette as the base for this quilt. I had seen this done before, but this was my 1st attempt at a silhouette quilt.

This blue & yellow quilt was started quite a few years ago at a wonderful weekly class led by Donna Callahan of the Somerville Recreation Dept. Thanks to great machine quilting instruction from Laurena McDermott, I finally was able to finish the quilt at Laurena's studio. Now the stars can shine amidst the Maine blueberries!

I saw this quilt in April 2011 "American Patchwork & Quilt" and loved the bright colors and house pattern in the quilt, and I enjoy hand appliqué so this was the quilt for me. Designer Jill Finley of Jillily Studios.

The Sew-a-torium Sisters Bee had the same 3 fabrics and the challenge was to each make a quilt using these fabrics-and others if needed-and make a quilt under 100 inches in perimiter. The button fabric reminded me of my mom's button collection that I now have and continue to add to.

Thanks to the woman who donated these wonderful Asian fabrics for Benefit Quilts. The Quilting Friends bee, Erica Cavin, Monique Cerudolo, Winnie Getrost, Jacqui James, Phyllis Maddox and Diana Snow put this together this summer. There is still more of the fabric available if another bee wants to use it.
