Volunteer Registration
Use this form only to select a time to Volunteer at the quilt show without registering a quilt.
If you have a quilt to register, you can volunteer on the Quilt Registration Form. Please do not volunteer more than once for the same time. Duplicates are very confusing.
All RSQ members are expected to volunteer a minimum of 2 hours during the show, even if you aren't registering a quilt. Volunteering will also give you free admission for a day. Please check times you will be available if you have not already signed up.
You may also email the Volunteer Coordinator, at volunteer@risingstarquilters.org, directly. As the show date comes closer, she will confirm/remind/refine your choice of time(s).
- Enter each quilt on a separate registration form.
- Registration deadline is Sept. 30th. Mail-in registration deadline is arrival by Sept. 30th.
- Each person who displays a quilt in the show must be a member of the Rising Star Quilters Guild, and have paid their dues for the 2024-2025 year. If you haven't paid yet, send a membership/renewal form and a check for $45 payable to Rising Star Quilters Guild, Inc. to RISING STAR QUILTERS P.O. Box 457 Lexington, MA 02420. Entries will not be accepted if dues are unpaid.
- Each member of Rising Star is expected to volunteer at least 2 hours during the show, even if you're not displaying a quilt. Feel free to volunteer more if you have the time. Email the Volunteer Coordinator or select your time on one, but only one, of your quilt registrations.
- All quilts displayed must be finished and quilted, labeled and prepared for hanging.
- Any member may have up to two (2) entries in the show plus challenge quilts, and one other quilted fiber art object or wearable item. Neither Bee quilts (ONE quilt made by a group) nor Bee challenges are counted in the limit. This year's challenge is: Freedom.
- A bee challenge quilt is a quilt a bee member made according to the bee's selected theme. It is not to be registered as a Challenge quilt, but as a Large, Small or Art quilt. It is NOT counted as part of the quilt limit.
- Large quilts and any quilt 48 inches or wider must have a 4 1/2 inch sleeve sewn on the top of the back.
- A signature patch with the name of the quilt and your name must be sewn to the lower right corner (as you face the back of the quilt) on the back of all quilts.
- Quilts must be brought to Arlington Town Hall on Fri. Nov. 15 between 8:30 am and 10:30 am. Each item must be brought in a separate paper or fabric bag with a flat bottom so it will stand up, and twine, string or fabric handles. Fold your quilt so the label shows at the top of the bag. If you can't make the time, ask a friend to bring in the quilt. At that time you will be given a pre-printed card for each of your quilts which must be used to pick up the quilt(s). The quilt(s) must be picked up on Sun. Nov 17 by the owner or the owner's representative, between 5:15 and 6:15 p.m.
- YOU (OR YOUR REPRESENTATIVE) MUST BRING THE CHECK-OUT CARD TO RECEIVE YOUR QUILT!
Remember: The show cannot happen without your quilts and your participation!
