For a mere $5 you can attend a meeting as a visitor and see for yourself what we're all about!

*We meet from September through June, except in December. Sometimes the November meeting's date is changed so it does not fall on Thanksgiving week.

- What is a quilt guild?
- A quilt guild is an organization that supports learning about and appreciation of quilts.
- Is a quilt guild the same as a quilting bee?
- A bee is a usually a smaller group of people who get together and quilt. Many members of RSQ are in bees and the RSQ Bee Keeper can help you find a bee if you are interested in joining one.
- Are there other guilds in the area?
- Yes. Quilters' Connection meets and has an annual show in Watertown, MA. The Burlington Quilters Guild meets in Burlington and has an annual show in Lexington.
- Can I be a member of more than one guild?
- Yes. Some of our members are in two or even three guilds!

About the meetings:
- How often are the meetings?
- We meet 9 times a year on the 4th Tuesday of the month. We meet every month except December, July and August.
- What happens at a meeting?
- A typical meeting consists of guild business followed by a presentation, usually by a well-known quilter who shows us her quilts.
- The meeting officially starts at 7:30 but the doors open
at 7:00 for a half hour social period.
Before 7:30 there's lots you can do:- Check in
- Get something to eat (members sign up to bring drinks or snacks)
- Look at the vendor's items
- Buy raffle tickets
- Sign up for the name tag raffle
- Chat
- The business part of the meeting typically includes:
- Show and tell
- Update on our show
- Block of the month
- Monthly raffle
- Name tag raffle
- Information about other quilt events
- Then there is a presentation by guest quilter on a
quilting-relating subject. Past presenters have included:

- Absolutely. Some of our members had been quilting for months when they joined.
- Do I have to be an expert quilter to join?
- No. RSQ for people of all levels of expertise and experience.

- Of course! RSQ is a place to learn about quilting. We're all learning.
- Is there a minimum age for members?
- If you are under 18 you're a junior member. There is no minimum age for junior members, but they are usually sponsored by an adult member.

- All that's really required of you is that you pay the annual dues. However, you are encouraged to participate as much of RSQ as possible by:

- Working on the raffle quilt

Joining RSQ:
- Can I try it out first?
- Yes. Anyone can attend a meeting for a $5 fee. You don't have to be the guest of a member to attend a meeting.

- Fill out the membership form, send the check for dues and we'll see you at the next meeting!
